Abstract
My internship with Metro Parks Tacoma (MPT) taught me a lot this summer. I had the privilege to assist in park maintenance at one of Tacoma’s prized attractions. Some important topics that were covered were the identification and removal of invasive species, use of pesticides, operating grounds equipment, observing how wildlife interacts in an urbanized area, and the science behind rain gardens and bioswales.
