Event Title
Justice for All: The Case for Humanity and Fair Treatment of Haitian Immigrants in the D.R.
Description
Solange Pierre, renowned humanitarian and activist will speak on efforts to protect the civil and constitutional rights of Haitian immigrants within the Dominican Republic. Through her organization, MUDHA, Pierre has waged an extensive struggle to combat numerous social and legal injustices that many Haitian immigrants and Haitian Dominicans have faced historically and currently within the D.R. While her efforts have put her in peril with Dominican authorities who often refuse to recognize the ongoing problems of an overlooked and exploited population, her efforts have also been awarded with the Women of Courage Award and Robert J.
