Presentation Title

Multi-layer polyeletrolytes modified Gold nanorods

Presentation Type

Abstract

Gold nanorods are nanoparticles with wide variety of applications for its unique optical and electronic properties which are highly adjustable by alternating shape, size and aspect ratio. Surface modification on base of gold nanoparticles has been a popular domain presence of CTAB, by far the most used type of rods, present a set of unique challenges for their functionalization and further applications. In my research, different types of polyelectrolytes are used to modify the surface covered by CTAB. By changing types of polyelectrolytes used, functions like heavy metal ion sensing and fluorescence excitation can be enhanced.
