Description

“Hey Man, I’m Reading” is an analytical essay exploring the ways in which Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, creators of the cult favorite graphic novel Watchmen, manipulate the content and impact of their text by engaging with the specific abilities and rhetorics of the hybridized medium they were working in. The essay also addresses the cultural context in which Watchmen was written and Moore and Gibbons’ particular knack for demonstrating metafictional awareness of shifting cultural literacies within the text itself.
