Abstract
Over the summer of this year I had the opportunity to work as a Resource Development intern for the non-profit Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County. Before my internship began I wrote a description of my learning agreements and what topics I strived to focus on during my time at Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County. I was able to accomplish and learn about all that I wanted to, the skills that I gained over the summer I will take back to my coursework for the Business and Sustainability major at Western Washington University. I was also able to bring the knowledge I gained from my coursework at Western to my internship, which helped me excel in the position. My main accomplishment at the Habitat was my persistent work to solicit and procure donations for Habitats Annual Raise the Roof Auction. I was able to help prepare our auction venue and see how all the work I did during the summer manifested into a beautiful event. The auction and all the other work I participated in during my internship was all meant to uplift Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County’s mission. Habitat’s main mission is to provide affordable, safe, decent housing for underserved communities in Whatcom County.
