Abstract
Interns were tasked to sample at various sites along the south fork of the Nooksack River from Deming to Acme twice a week (image 1). Data of interest included temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and number of people present. Two waste bins were placed by NSEA at the beach along Strand Road in Deming. Interns were tasked in collecting, weighing, and identifying the trash collected in waste bins and litter found along the beach to gauge the effectiveness of whether the presence of wastebins reduced littering.
