Abstract
The urban vegetable farm is currently a program Western Washington’s very own Center for Community Learning and is engaged in providing affordable, culturally appropriate, and organically grown produce to the community. While City Sprouts Farm and its founder-workers have from the Farm’s genesis enlisted these values and objectives, it has been adopted by our university institution, providing a unique access point for students to engage in local agriculture and building community vitality through Whatcom County’s collective (social-ecological) food system
