Abstract
Through late August into September 2025, I conducted an unpaid internship with the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation. Founded in 2006, the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation is a nonprofit charity that works to enrich and support the communities of the greater Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula area of Washington. The organization focuses on five main pillars to support the community: arts and culture, education, environment, recreation, and social capital. It is a collaboration between members of the community and governed by a Board of Directors with the purpose of building up and supporting the residents and leaving a legacy that our communities can be proud of. In their first 15 years of operation, the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation raised over $16 million which they have given back to developing the five pillars of the community. The Foundation is involved with many projects, such as environmental learning-based pre-school, a senior center, and environmental conservation work.
