Abstract
Bidentate ligands in which the coordinated atoms are linked by an ethylene glycol chain can change their conformation in response to the stimulus of a small cation. With the goal of using such a conformation change to promote oxidative addition at Au(I), a novel LX-type with an ethylene glycol linker was prepared. The multi-step ligand synthesis and initial metallation efforts will be presented.
