Description

This research paper investigates the grammaticalization of the word ‘finna’ in order to show that it is a more highly grammaticalized form of ‘fixing to’, outside its phonological reduction. It also compares mechanisms of the grammaticalization process to those of ‘going to’ in order to show their similarity, so that the difference in their perceptions by the public may be further examined.
