The Salish Sea is home to many notable harmful algae species such as Alexandrium, Heterosigma, Pseudo-nitschia and Dinophysis and some emerging species such as Azadinium. How does the Coast influence conditions in the Salish Sea? Climate Change? This session explored the research, policy and monitoring of harmful algae from the perspective of Canadian and US Federal agencies, tribes, natural resource managers, researchers, citizen scientists as well as finfish and shellfish producers.
