Presentation Abstract

Salmon are in crisis and time is running out. We must act now to restore balance and save our salmon. In 2021, Governor Inslee updated Washington State's Salmon Strategy: Securing a Future for People and Salmon in Washington. The is the first time the state's salmon strategy "Extinction is Not an Option" has been updated since it was developed in 1999. This presentation will focus on priorities, themes, and actions from the strategy update, and will outline the state's legislative, policy, and budget priorities to put salmon and people on a path to recovery. (This abstract is a placeholder and could be modified to be an overview or panel discussion with multiple presenters)
