Abstract
"Alternative Milks" is an exploration of creative ways to respond to the emotional roadblocks of transitioning into adulthood. I wrote music as an outlet to overcome loss, grief from sexual violence, fear of change, gender dysphoria, and low self-esteem; through this medium, I learned to speak a language to myself that could not otherwise be accessed. This healing and learning experience is exemplified by one track that I produced and presented to a live audience, called "Grip & Tear."
