Abstract
“Joy at the End of the World” is a children’s picture book designed to validate and give tools to children to manage their growing anxieties as exposure to traumatic world events increases with age and the prevalence of technology. The book follows a boy and his stuffed unicorn as the two journey through an apocalyptic wasteland to find somewhere safe, all while discovering beauty and fun in their surroundings as well as comfort in one another.
