Abstract
This paper explores how knitting can make us resilient through its benefits as a flow activity, its opportunity to connect with others, and its ability to make meaning beyond the physical bounds of knitting. Using flow psychology, examples of knitting in war, the experiences of my family, and my own experience with knitting, I examine the benefits of knitting. While in the past knitting has been overlooked, its benefits are significant. Knitting can take on meaning beyond its physical bounds and is an important part of many people's lives and an integral part of their identity.
