Abstract

A Certain Exposure is a compilation of prose poetry, images, and “found text” that examines the complex relationship between the self and an intimate, yet necessarily alien, “other.” The collection juxtaposes events in Hungarian history with images, personal narrative, and theoretical ideas to complicate ideas of identity and responsibility in interpersonal relationships. In form, this collection works via fragmentation and ambiguity to model a holistic and intentionally compassionate way of living with difficult personal experiences.
